Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or place entered in a search box is transmitted directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query and supplies its results. Search terms are not logged or retained by us.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email or contact submission may be kept as needed to prepare a response. It remains within the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may automatically receive standard technical and usage details, including:
- page-view dates, times, and visit duration
- the referring website, when one is reported
- browser name and version
- device category and operating system
- pages opened during the visit
- the device's assigned IP address
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small files placed on a device. They and analytics services help combine traffic information, such as which pages receive visits and where sessions end. A browser can reject or remove cookies, although blocking them may change how some website functions behave.
What We Do With This Data
- routing a submitted query to the applicable search provider
- maintaining website availability and performance
- diagnosing errors and other technical problems
- measuring which material visitors use
- displaying advertising that may reflect visitor interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This website does not keep, assemble, or sell a database of personal criminal records. Its published information directs readers to Tift County Sheriff, local court clerks, the GBI's Georgia Crime Information Center, and the Georgia Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not compiled into consumer reports. The website is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act.
Third-Party Search Partners
Independent companies operate the search boxes. Information entered there is governed by that provider's privacy policy rather than this policy. Each provider controls its own retention, processing, and disclosure practices, so its terms should be reviewed before a query is submitted.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to sheriff pages, court portals, Georgia agency resources, legal-aid organizations, or commercial search services. Once a visitor follows an external link, the destination's privacy policy applies. Review it before providing personal information.
Advertising companies may use their own systems to recognize activity across multiple websites and select interest-based ads. We do not operate that tracking.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal information is not sold. It may be disclosed to the following limited recipients:
- advertising networks that place content on the pages
- analytics vendors that measure traffic and performance
- search providers receiving a query through their tool
- government or law-enforcement authorities acting under a valid legal demand
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable, standard safeguards are used for information collected here. No internet transmission or storage method is completely secure, however, so absolute protection and freedom from a breach cannot be guaranteed.
Users Under 18
The website is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. Information identified as belonging to a minor will be removed after notice.
Your Data Rights
Rights may vary with the circumstances. Relevant Georgia law includes the Fair Business Practices Act, O.C.G.A. § 10-1-390 et seq. The Georgia Open Records Act, O.C.G.A. §§ 50-18-70 through 50-18-77, applies to public agencies and does not make this private website a public-records custodian. Criminal-history dissemination by Georgia agencies is separately governed by O.C.G.A. § 35-3-35. Subject to applicable law, a user may:
- object to or opt out of certain processing
- request deletion of personal data
- seek correction of inaccurate information
- request access to personal information held about them
Updates to This Policy
This policy may be revised. An updated version will be posted here and will carry a new effective date.
